Wedding Photography: Frequently Asked Questions
How soon should I book my photographer?
Ideally as soon as you have established your date, it is advisable to book your photographer. Some wedding dates are extremely popular and are booked up to a year in advance – others might still be available at the last minute.
How long after the wedding will all my photos be ready?
Your images and provisional layout of your album will be ready for viewing within 3 – 6 weeks of your wedding, although we always endeavour to get them done sooner. Once the album has been approved the printing takes a month. We understand your excitement in seeing your photos and do our best to get them done as quickly as possible, without compromising the quality.
We would like a consultation to discuss our requirements and view your albums and portfolios. Does this need to be held at your studio, our home or wedding venue, and how much will it cost?
Consultations with us at our studio are free of charge and we are happy to see couples after work, in the evenings if required.
Consultations at your home or venue are possible, although there is a travel cost involved.
Can I get the copyright from the day as well as the digital negatives?
Yes, all our packages include a “high res disk of images”. The images are NOT watermarked and are available to you to print as often as you wish.
Do you have backup equipment?
Yes, we always carry at least two cameras and multiple lenses. We are also registered with Nikon as professionals and they regularly service our equipment and provide swap-out units should any of our equipment not be functional.
What types of photos will be taken – black and white, colour?
We photograph everything in colour. As certain photos look better in monochrome, we might choose to let you view them in black and white. Once you have seen your proofs, you can always ask for additional black and whites should you want them.
What happens if it rains on my wedding day?
“Rain is not a pain!” We have had extensive experience working with couples in the rain and will capture your special event regardless of the weather. We are well equipped with large white umbrellas so that they blend in with your photos and fit in with your day.
Do you post images on Social Media?
We only post any images after the couple have seen their own photos! So you will see your photos first. Have a look at our Social Media Pages to see what we post – Face Book and Instagram.
